Election Commission Of Pakistan To Set Up 14,487 Display Centers For Voters Lists

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will set up 14,487 display centers for displaying electoral rolls from March 26 across the country.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Mar, 2018 ) :Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will set up 14,487 display centers for displaying electoral rolls from March 26 across the country.
According to ECP, these display centers will be established for registration, correction or removal of Names from voters' lists. It said that 7,928 display centers will be set up in Punjab, 2,585 centers in Sindh, 2,545 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1,429 centers in Balochistan.
It said that the commission has included the names of all those in voters lists who received their national identity card from period 2013 to 2018. It said that 81,00,000 new voters have been registered while the names of 8,00,000 voters have been removed from the voters lists while the draft voter list contains around 104 million voters.
It said that the commission has updated its 8300 short message service (SMS) and asked the voters to check the details of their vote registration by sending SMS with CNIC number to 8300. On the occasion, Chief Election Commissioner Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza said that the registration of country's youth besides men and women as voters was essential as their participation was a must in democratic process.
He said that it was a best chance for them to register as voters before 2018 general elections.
