GB Govt Takes Solid Measures For Area's Uplift

The provincial government of Gilgit Baltistan was taking solid measures for socio-economic development of the area, says Provincial Minister for Tourism, Gilgit Baltistan Fida Khan Fida.
ASTORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Dec, 2018 ) :The provincial government of Gilgit Baltistan was taking solid measures for socio-economic development of the area, says Provincial Minister for Tourism, Gilgit Baltistan Fida Khan Fida.
"As part of such efforts the GB government was pursuing prudent policies for the area's uplift and as result peace prevailed and education institutions are open, imparting quality education to the youth," the minister said while addressing at a seminar held at Gahkoch, .
He added tourism sector was also on the government's priority list and a number of measures were being taken to attract more tourists.
He said that people of the area were very patriotic citizens and hundreds of them including Saheed Lalak Jan who is recipient of Nishan-e-Haider sacrificed their lives for sake of the country.
The tourism minister also appreciated the Pak Army for their role in reconstruction and relief activities and added that miscreants were successfully defeated following schools torching incident in Ghizer.
He suggested a cadet college should be established in Gahkoch to equip the district's youth with quality education enabling them to face the modern day's challenges successfully.
He also said that the government had allocated Rs 350 million for water supply scheme in Gahkoch and work on the project would commence soon.
Similarly, he said that tender was floated for repair of Ghizar-Gilgit road and work was in progress on the road and added that upgradation of DHQ in Gahkoch was complete.
