High-level Tourism Dept Delegation Visit Murree To Review Hotel & Restaurant Licensing Process

A high-level delegation of the Punjab Tourism Department has undertaken a field visit to Murree to review the hotel and restaurant licensing process and make the ongoing registration campaign active and transparent
RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2025) A high-level delegation of the Punjab Tourism Department has undertaken a field visit to Murree to review the hotel and restaurant licensing process and make the ongoing registration campaign active and transparent.
“Under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to promote tourism and provide quality facilities, the Punjab Tourism Department is taking practical steps. In this regard, Secretary Tourism Punjab Raja Jahangir Anwar especially instructed a high-level delegation to visit the hilly station,” a Department spokesman said on Thursday.
The delegation included Deputy Secretary Tourism Amar Shakir Jaja, Deputy Controller Department of Tourism Services Hafiz Ghazanfar Ali and other officers concerned.
The delegation inspected various hotels and restaurants, and made a detailed analysis of the licensing and registration process.
The performance, attendance and reporting system of the Punjab Tourism Squad teams deployed in the field were also observed.
“To ensure transparency and efficiency, a comprehensive accountability system has been introduced, under which daily performance reporting of field teams has been made mandatory,” the spokesman said.
He added that special teams had been formed to make the hotel registration process fast and effective, which would ensure the provision of quality facilities to tourists by bringing the hotel industry under the legal ambit.
The delegation members directed the field teams to perform their duties honestly as per the existing policies and avoid any kind of negligence.
The Deputy Secretary Tourism, while appreciating the spirit and hard work of the field teams present on the spot, stated that as per the vision of the Punjab chief minister, the Tourism Department was not only regularizing the hotel industry but also taking urgent steps to bring the tourism sector in line with world standards.
“This campaign will continue under an effective transparent strategy so that Punjab can be made a safe, reliable and pleasant centre of tourism,” he added.
