LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Nov, 2016 ) : Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal Friday said politically-sane people would reject any type of agitation as they wanted completion of constitutional term of the government.
"A change will come only through ballot and masses will support the party which performs well," he added. Speaking to the media, after attending the 4th International Conference on Research in education (ICORE-2016) here at Faisal Auditorium, University of the Punjab, he said the incumbent government believed in serving masses and implementing policies to transform Pakistan into a developed nation.
"Pakistan's economy is fast emerging and the world acknowledges it," he mentioned. To a query, the minister said that the opposition had constitutional right to protest for pressing their genuine demands but it should be in a democratic way.
He said that agitations gave nothing but impeded the development process in the country. "In the past, several opportunities to put the country on the path to progress were wasted but now, due to the prudent policies of the government, a strong system is flourishing and economy is growing rapidly," he added.
Answering another question, the minister said that overcoming the water storage was government's top priority, adding that speedy work on several water projects was in progress in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
About Chief of Army Staff Raheel Sharif, he said the General is retiring in a gracious way after performing his duties. He said that Raheel Sharif proved himself as one of the most professional army officers.
