Medicine Related Matter To Be Resolved Soon: Dr Yasmin Rashid

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2019 ) :Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Thursday, responding to the protest by opposition members in the Punjab Assembly session regarding non-availability of cancer medicines in hospitals, said the incumbent government was aware of all matters and the issue would be resolved very soon.

The Punjab Assembly session started with Speaker Chaudhry Pervaz Elahi in the chair.

PML-N MPA Sheikh Allauddin said that Chunian incident not only created fear among people of the area but protest was also staged by them.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaz Elahi appreciated MPA Sheikh Allauddin's efforts which he made yesterday to control the protestors. The MPA said some miscreants tried to harm his petrol pump and property.

Punjab Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja while speaking on the occasion said, "Whatever happened with MPA Sheikh Allauddin is awful but Chunian is his constituency and he better understands the reaction of the people of his constituency." MPA Rana Mashhood said, "All of us should speak unanimously over Kashmir issue," adding that presence of opposition leader was vital but despite making number of demands, the opposition leader production orders were not issued.

PML-N MPA Khalil Tahir Sandhu said that Punjab University Campus Bridge which was associated with the name of late Prof. Waris Mir had been replaced as Kashmir Underpass which he added was inappropriate attitude towards a renowned personality.

Punjab Assembly Speaker while commenting on it said Waris Mir services as teacher could not be denied and it was a request to the government that the underpass name might be restored to Waris Mir underpass.

Punjab Law Minister presented Ordinance Mianwali University 2019, Ordinance Public Private partnership Punjab 2019, Ordinance (Reforms) Medical Teaching Institutions Punjab and Ordinance Probation and PAROLE Service 2019 in the house and these were handed over to the relevant standing committees. The report on which would be presented in the hosue within two months.

The Punjab Law Minister presented the Punjab Alternate Dispute Resolution Bill 2019 (BILL No. 13 of 2019). The bill was passed with majority.

Questions related to Revenue & Colonies (board Of Revenue Department) were also raised during the assembly's proceeding and the relevant ministers responded to the questions.

The session has been adjourned till Friday (tomorrow).
