ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Feb, 2018 ) :Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani and other senators voiced concerns over the recent IMF report in which it suggested the country to make drastic changes in the National Finance Commission (NFC) award as it had failed to settle distributions of resources among the provinces.
Chairing the Senate session, Raza Rabbani said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) could not dictate the country on the distribution of resources among the provinces."We are not a colony that they dictate us to use our resources," he added.
Responding to a point raised by the Chair and other lawmakers, Minister of State for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan said Pakistan had successfully completed the IMF programme last year. "During that time, we were under certain obligations but after the completion of the programme, this annual review report of the IMF is not binding on us rather it is only advisory," he said.
