
Over 6 Km Encroachments On Gujjar Nullah Cleared: DC Central

KARACHI,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Augst,2016) : Over six kilometer encroachments on Gujjar Nullah have been cleared so far while almost seven kilometer remains, that is expected to be cleared within four months. The drive against encroachments on Gujjar Nullah is being supervised by Deputy Commissioner Central, Capt (R) Fareeduddin Mustafa on the directives of CM Sindh and Sindh Local Government Minister. The DC Central while talking to mediamen here in his office on Thursday evening told that actually the Gujjar Nullah was 210 feet wide but due encroachments it was reduced to 4 to 10 feet at certain places that posed a danger to the human lives, said a statement.
Gujjar Nullah is being widened upto 40 feet with 10 feet roads on either sides.
The DC central said that in collaboration with KMC, DMC, Police, K-Electric and other stakeholders we are doing well. At least three assistant commissioners with their 200 team members along with heavy machinery on daily basis had cleared cattle pans, houses and structure made of baked bricks had been demolished, he added.
