Peshawar High Court (PHC) Abbottabad bench Wednesday ordered to lift 15-day ban on Rikshaw in Haripur district.
ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Mar, 2018 ) :Peshawar High Court (PHC) Abbottabad bench Wednesday ordered to lift 15-day ban on Rikshaw in Haripur district. The two-member bench of PHC Abbottabad bench comprising Justice Lal Jan Khattak and Justice Syed Arshad Shah while giving verdict on a writ petition filed by Rikshaw drivers association against ban on entry of Rikshaw in district Haripur for 15-day for every month cancelled the ban of the district administration.
During the hearing the lawyer of defense Jawad Habib Naqshbandi while pleading the case told the PHC that district administration ordered entry of Riskshaws on 15-day turn basis and banned half of the Rikshaws from entering the district for 15-day of every month under a new traffic plan.
He said that four months back district administration Haripur implemented new traffic system in the district to regularize the traffic in the city by introducing turn system for Rikshaws. The decision of the district administration was challenged by owners and drivers of Rikshaws' association in PHC Abbottabad bench as they claimed that driving is the only source of income for them and 15 days ban could possibly destroy them financially.
