Prime Minister Imran Khan Launches Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme

The PM vowed that retired government employees, poor and deprived segments of the society will get benefit from the scheme
LAHORE- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News- 17th April 2019) Prime Minister Imran Khan on has launched the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme at a ceremony in Islamabad.
The launching ceremony was attended by Housing and Works Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema, Finance Minister Asad Umar and others.
PM Khan vowed to continue helping the deprived and underprivileged segment of society. He said PTI government will introduce revolutionary changes in various sectors. He said those who lived in kachi abadis will be provided residences under the scheme. He added the residences will be swiftly constructed.
He admitted that though health, education and employment were on his priority list but then the thought about retiring government employees and those poor who did not afford homes came into his mind.
He mentioned that incident which compelled him to start quickly the scheme. A retiring government employee had been told that the only two ways his family could retain their government residence were if his son got inducted in the same department if he died while still a government employee, he said, adding the next day he committed suicide by jumping off a building.
That was the moment, he said, he decided to launch the scheme. The PM promised that the houses will be provided on merit and the scheme would be swiftly started in all part of the country.
