Punjab Govt Reluctant To Appoint Hamza As PAC Chairman

The PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz could not be appointed as Public Accounts Committee head when he was under investigation in different corruption cases

LAHORE- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News- 16^th April 2019) The Punjab government is not willing to appoint Hamza Shehaz as Public Accounts Committee chairman.

Provincial Law Minister Basharat Raja said the appointment of Hamza at a time when he was under the allegation of severe corruption references and NAB was investigating him in different cases, it would not seem appropriate to appoint him head of Punjab PAC.

He hoped the issue will be resolved soon as talks were on progress on the issue.

Talking to media, he said Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi’s son Moonis Elahi had already clarified his stance over meeting with Hamza. He said Moonis clarified that meeting was not held between them. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan posed confidence on Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar performance and transfer of bureaucracy was prerogative of the CM.
