Relief Work Expedited In Flood-affected Areas In Gilgit

Special Coordinator to Chief Minister (CM) for Disaster Management, Shahzada Hussain Makpon has directed concerned to authorities to expedite relief and rehabilitation work in areas effected by floods in Tehsil Ashkoman of district Gizher.

GILGIT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2018 ) :Special Coordinator to Chief Minister (CM) for Disaster Management, Shahzada Hussain Makpon has directed concerned to authorities to expedite relief and rehabilitation work in areas effected by floods in Tehsil Ashkoman of district Gizher.

On the direction of CM, he was the first government official who arrived here on foot after travelling long distance and met with effected families after flooding caused by glacier burst in Brast.

He inspected ongoing relief work and distribution of food items among displaced people.

The provincial government had dispatched residential rents and food to stranded people on emergency basis after closer of roads and destruction of houses as result of natural disaster.

Talking to people, he said that compensation would be given affected families and the governmentwould utilize all its resources in their rehabilitation.

He said that provincial government was well aware of problems of flood affected areas and responding to their needs on emergency basis.
