Senate Body Wants NIP Officials To Categorize Internees

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Dec, 2017 ) :The Senate Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Wednesday asked National Internship Programme (NIP) officials to categorize the internees for maintaining the education superiority among them.
A meeting of the Committee was held here at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Saud Majeed. The meeting discussed in detail various matters related to Council of Common Interests (CCI), Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), NIP and Youth Exchange Programme.
In the meeting the NIP officials informed the committee that the stipend of the monthly internees had been raised from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000.The number of applications of the interested candidates from all the country is increasing with every passing year, he said and added a total of 50,000 interns do internship annually.
The Chairman told NIP to classify the internees in four categories saying that the most educated or skilled internees must get more stipend than others. He said NIP must also increase the total number of internees.
The quota of FATA and Balochistan should also be increased, he said. In the meeting, the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Fawad Hasan Fawad informed the committee about the exact update position for establishing permanent secretariat of the Council of Common Interests (CCI).
We has not yet received the summary in this regard. First the summary is sent to the Cabinet Division and from there it is forwarded to us, he said hoping that the issue would be resolved soon, probably in the next two committee meetings.
The committee also asked the IPC Ministry to submit a new report in this regard. The Committee also asked CCI to come up with proper homework and up-to-date information for the implementation of various decisions taken by it in its various meetings up to June 30, this year.
Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Administrator Justice (R) Asad Munir on the occasion briefed the Committee about football affairs in the country. He informed that the court had appointed him as there were two parallels groups functioning in the country and things were not heading in right direction.We need funds to hold football activities in the country, he said.
Though the football federation is suspended by FIFA but football activities mustn't stop in the country, he said and added the only best solution for the game was to hold federations elections without any delay.
I hope the matter will be resolved in the next court's hearing on January 9, he said. The committee asked the Pakistan sports board (PSB) officials to inform the Committee about the court proceedings whenever these take place.
Senator Sardar Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel, Senator Saeed Ul Hassan Mandokhail, Senator Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, State Minister Dr. Darshan. State Minister.and other officials were also present in the meeting.
