LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2019 ) :Role of teachers in schools are of high importance as they act as transformers.
Progressive Education Network (PEN) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Khan said this while addressing a Annual Head Teachers meeting 2019 at PEN head office on Saturday.
"It was essential for teachers to pursue professionalism for achieving desired goals", he maintained.
He said, " education is vital for the progress of any society and it is required to work for improving and ensuring quality education." He said, "the number of PEN adopted school has reached to some 244 schools and we aim to expand our horizon across the country with a vision to achieve literate, developed, prosperous and forward looking Pakistan that plays a leading role in world affairs." Ahsan Imran Sheikh in his address said that it was necessary that the efforts of teachers get properly transferred to students. He said, " through education destiny of nations could be changed." He appreciated the teachers role and requested them to keep struggling to achieve their desired results.
Omar Khayam Shaik said, "efforts which we were making in achieving our goals must not overlook those children which remained behind due to any circumstances." It is pertinent to mention here that PEN organizes Annual Head Teachers meeting at the start of new academic session to discuss the academic calender and to formulate strategies for increasing students enrolment in schools.
The participants of the meeting were thoroughly briefed about the different methods and activities which PEN adopted schools follow as part of their academic calender for grooming students besides training teachers to meet set standards.
Some important features of academic Calendar includes celebration of important events like Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW), Iqbal Day, Independence Day, Pakistan Day/Pakistan Resolution Day, Defence Day, Labour Day besides other activities aimed at educating students in best manner.
Later, prizes were distributed among the winner students of the PEN painting competition.
