An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday sent Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi and five others to jail on judicial remand in a provocative speeches and ransacking case
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jan, 2019 ) :An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday sent Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi and five others to jail on judicial remand in a provocative speeches and ransacking case.
Earlier, besides Khadim Hussain Rizvi, TLP leaders including Pir Afzal Qadri, Ashraf Asif, Ejaz Ashrafi and two others were produced before ATC Judge Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad on expiry of their 20-day physical remand.
The Civil Lines Police requested the court to extend the physical remand of the accused for carrying out further investigations from them.
However, Advocate Usman Naseem on behalf of the accused opposed the plea saying that no recovery was made in the case.
He contended that no further investigations were required from the accused.He pleaded with the court to send the accused to jail on judicial remand.
The court after hearing detailed arguments of parties sent the accused to jail on judicial remand.
Civil Lines Police had registered a case against the accused on charges of provocative speeches, ransacking of government and public properties and others during the protests.
