Says everything has a price and I have come to pay that price
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th July, 2018) Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz reached Lahore airport last night from where they were arrested and shifted to Adiala Jail, Islamabad.
After landing at the Lahore airport, the former prime minister talked to some journalists inside the plane and said, “Where are those who used to say I won’t return. Tell them that I am back.”
Nawaz Sharif said that there were speculations that I will take political asylum in London and won’t return but I have returned knowing that I will be taken to jail. He said that he received many advises, including not returning to Pakistan, but I refused to act on them. “Everything has a price and I have come to pay that price.”
Responding to a question about a ‘deal’, Nawaz Sharif said that a deal has been left far behind in this situation.
This matter has gone far from a deal now because these things never affected us.
About his workers, he said that I have always asked my workers to remain peaceful but the government should also remain peaceful.
This happened in 2007 and history is being repeated now, he added.
The Accountability Court of Islamabad Friday night issued imprisonment warrants for former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz after the convicted persons were arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from Lahore airport and later shifted them to Islamabad.
The accountability court would conduct further hearings in remaining two graft references pertaining to Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment against Nawaz Sharif in the premises of Adyala Jail under Section 16 of the NAB ordinance.
