The clash between India and Pakistan will be one of the most anticipated contests of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games men's hockey event and the organizers are expecting a jam-packed Stadium.

Both countries have a long and proud hockey history, with this emotionally charged clash never failing to entertain. Indian coach Sjoerd Marijne learned early in his tenure this was not just 'any other game'.

"I addressed the team before my first match against Pakistan and they said it was 'business as usual so very are taking it as normal," coach Marijne said in a media briefing. "We always played like a team and hopefully the team would show better rather focusing on one match we have an eye on the whole tournament," he added.

It be a game and certainly people who here or watching around the world would enjoy the best of the game," he concluded. Pakistan, who held Wales to a 1-1 draw in their first match, would certainly be a different while playing against India," midfielder Muhammad Arshad, more commonly known as Muhammad Tousiq, spoke about the emotion involved in the game said.

"It means more to the millions of fans that watch this game," Tousiq said. "Both sets of supporters desperately want to win. As players we should relax on the pitch, but sometimes we get carried away," he added.

"I sure things would different this time too like always when Pakistan and India are playing," he said. Pakistan coach Roelant Oltmans has coached both countries and believes each side 'only thinks about the outcome and totally forgets the process.

"Emotion overrides structures and strategies," Oltmans said. There were more emotional crowds when talking to one Pakistani family living in Sydney who came to support Pakistan. "We always prays for our team, specially hockey that earned a good name to Pakistan in the past but we don't know why the organizers of the Pakistan hockey back home did not released that it is now 2018 not the 80s so the management of hockey should work like other countries working for the betterment of their Games," Mr.

Earlier, Scotland upset South Africa in hockey. Scotland may be ranked eight places below World No.15 South Africa, but it didn't stop the side putting on a show in their 4-2 win at the Gold Coast Hockey Centre on Thursday.

Two goals from star forward Kenneth Bain either side of half-time ensured Scotland ran out 4-2 winners over their more highly fancied rivals. "We've (Scotland) always been the underdogs," said Bain.

"But since we got promoted to the top European competition, we've started focusing more on attacking hockey. "We've got such a talented group of players and you can see that by how easy it was to score tonight," Bain added.

Scotland led 3-0 going into the first break, with goals coming from Robert Harwood, Bain and Birthday boy Alan Forsyth. South Africa mounted a comeback in the second-half, with goals to Gareth Heyns and captain Tim Drummond giving them some hope. But it was Bain's second goal with 14 minutes left that sealed a memorable night for the Scots.
