Google Representatives To Visit Russia Within 1.5 Months For Negotiations - Roskomnadzor

Representatives of US tech giant Google will arrive in Moscow within one and a half months for negotiations with the Russian media watchdog, Roskomnadzor's head Alexander Zharov said on Thursday.

"Just yesterday I received a letter saying that they intend to come to us within one and half month for negotiations," Zharov said.

Last week, Roskomnadzor said that it had sent a letter to Google, warning that the company would be fined for its search engine's failure to remove links to prohibited resources from the search results.

The Roskomnadzor deputy chief, Vadim Subbotin, told Sputnik then that Google had three days to reply and send its objections to the watchdog.

On June 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, making operators of research engines liable to fines for their failure to remove links to pages listed in the register of prohibited internet resources from the search results.
