Russian lawmakers Andrey Klishas, Lyudmila Bokova and Andrey Lugovoy have submitted to the State Duma, the lower house of the country's parliament, three bills on stable operation of Internet in Russia in case of threats from abroad.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th December, 2018) Russian lawmakers Andrey Klishas, Lyudmila Bokova and Andrey Lugovoy have submitted to the State Duma, the lower house of the country's parliament, three bills on stable operation of internet in Russia in case of threats from abroad.

"The draft Federal law 'On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation' was prepared taking into account the aggressive nature of the US National Cyber Strategy adopted in September 2018," the explanatory note says.

The lawmakers also submitted to the Duma a bill that envisions creating infrastructure that would ensure operation of Internet resources in Russia in case the country's providers are disconnected from the global network.

The third draft law entitles Russia's communications watchdog Roskomnadzor to centrally administer Internet and communications networks in case of a security threat from abroad.
