MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st August, 2018) Three people were injured as a result of shooting near the Kingsbury tube station in North West London, local media reported Tuesday.

According to the Sun newspaper, police and emergency cars rushed to the scene at 21.45 local time (20.45 GMT).

Met Police confirmed the fact of shooting. The tube station and the nearby roads are currently closed. The police are investigating the incident and are hunting for suspects.

"Not terror related. Three people taken to hospital, none believed to be life-threatening," Met Police wrote on Twitter.

UK media reported that two men, aged 18 and 24, and a woman, 30, had been hospitalized with gunshots after the incident.

The reports also suggest that the authorities had not made any arrests in the case.

The number of violent crimes, in particular with the use of knives and acids, has been high in the United Kingdom over the past years.
