local time, according to airport authorities."Non specific" is a term used by the authorities when the caller has not specified the precise place of the bomb in the call.Security teams were carrying a search out in the premises, an airport official said.
"Mumbai airport authorities received a call around 11 am which threatened that a bomb explosion would take place at the international terminal in the next 12 hours.
Following this, offices of various airlines, and pre-departure and arrival areas were evacuated," local media reports said, quoting the official.The threat call is being assessed by an expert panel, which decided to evacuate departure and certain other areas at Terminal 2, he added.Operations at the Mumbai airport are already shut due to ongoing runway maintenance and repairing work, which commenced on Feb.
7 and will conclude on March 30.Both runways of the airport are no functional from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays as part of the repair work. NNI
