The suspect, who reportedly warned he had a pistol, was killed when security forces stormed the plane after it made an emergency landing in Chittagong.
Dhaka (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th February, 2019) An individual on Sunday made a hijacking attempt aboard the Biman Bangladesh airline that was heading from Dhaka for Dubai.
The suspect tried to hijack the Dubai-bound plane during a change in the city of Chattogram but was arrested by Bangladeshi security forces, local media reported.
The suspect, who reportedly warned he had a pistol, was killed when security forces stormed the plane after it made an emergency landing in Chittagong.
No passengers were killed, or injured in the incident as all 148 passengers and crew on board the Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight BG147 disembarked safely.
However, Chittagong Commissioner now says that the hijacker only had a toy gun while he did not have any explosive material on his body.

According to Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Mafidur Rahman, the suspect wanted to talk to Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Bangladesh police are further investigating the incident.
