DPR Parliament to Hold First Meeting After Elections on November 19 - Press Service

DONETSK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th November, 2018) The first meeting of the parliament of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) after elections will be held on November 19, the press service of the republican People's Council said on Thursday.

On Sunday, the self-proclaimed people's republics of Donetsk and Luhansk held elections to vote in leaders and parliaments. The Donetsk Republic movement led by acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin won 74 mandates in the 100-seat parliament, while the Free Donbas party received 26 mandates.

"On Monday, November 19, 2018, the first plenary meeting of the People's Council of the Donetsk People's Republic of the second convocation will take place," the press service said.

According to the press service, there are almost 60 issues on the draft agenda of the first meeting, including the election of the chairman and deputy chairman of the parliament, as well as the chairmen of the committees of the People's Council of the DPR.

The Ukrainian authorities as well as the European Union and the United States have not recognized the results of the elections, while the Kremlin has pointed out that the vote is not a violation of the Minsk agreements.
