Greek Supreme Court to Announce Decision on Case of Russian National Vinnik on December 19

ATHENS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 03rd December, 2018) The Greek Supreme Court has postponed until December 19 the hearing on the appeal of the extradition of Russian national Alexander Vinnik to France, where he is suspected of cybercrimes, a Sputnik correspondent from the court room.

The decision will be announced on December 19, a judge said.

On Monday, the court allowed Vinnik's lawyer to Finish the statement and rejected yet another petition to disqualify the court chair and the prosecutor.

"I demand the disqualification of the entire composition of the court and especially of the prosecutor ... I consider that you are judging me unlawfully you and the prosecutor. And I have facts and evidence. There are witnesses of your lawlessness," Vinnik said.

The prosecutor suggested rejecting everything and continuing the meeting.

Vinnik was detained in Greece in July 2017 at the request of the US authorities on various charges, including laundering $4 billion through bitcoin cryptocurrency exchange BTC-E, allegedly headed by Vinnik. France is trying to get Vinnik extradited as well, accusing him of hacking email accounts of thousands of people and extortion. In Russia, Vinnik is wanted for separate fraud charges, but he has denied some of the allegations.
