STOCKHOLM (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th April, 2019) Unidentified hackers gained access to the Twitter account of the Social Democratic Party of Sweden in the early hours of Monday and falsely announced the resignation of Stefan Lofven from the post of the country's prime minister.
The press service of the Social Democrats confirmed to the Dagens Nyheter newspaper that the party's Twitter account had been hacked.
Apart from Lofven's resignation, the hackers announced abolishing the Swedish Air Force, increased investment in immigration and legalization of marijuana. They also said they were "celebrating" the record high number of rape victims, raising taxes and opening up borders.
The hackers also called to buy bitcoins. An orange bitcoin badge also appeared on the party logo.
By 08:30 a.m. local time (06:30 GMT), most of the hackers' messages were still in sight.
