"The volume of work on restoring Syria's infrastructure and social facilities is being increased ... The positive dynamics in Syria's social facilities and infrastructure recovery remains in place, which contributes to the improvement of the general situation in the country," Mizintsev said at a meeting of the joint Russia-Syria coordination center on refugee repatriation.
Mizintsev specified that 5,300 residential houses, 297 medical facilities, 1,497 educational facilities, 312 water supply facilities, 319 bakeries, 1,078 electric substations and 14,263 industrial enterprises were restored and commissioned into service in Syria.
Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations. Now that the Syrian government has regained control over most of the country's territories that had been seized by terrorists, it is focused on creating favorable conditions for repatriating refugees.
