Jared Kushner, senior aide to US President Donald Trump and his son-in-law, held talks with Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, discussing Trump's plan on Israeli-Palestinian settlement, US Embassy in Qatar said on Friday
"They discussed increasing cooperation between the United States and Qatar, and the Trump Administration's efforts to facilitate peace between the Israelis and Palestinians," the embassy said.
US Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt and US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook also took part in the talks, it added.
According to the diplomatic mission, the talks also focused on opportunities to improve the situation in the region through investments.
This week, Kushner visited a number of Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates and Oman, where he negotiated Trump's peace plan for Palestinians and Israelis.
Trump has stated on numerous occasions that his administration has been preparing a so-called deal of the century for Israeli-Palestinian settlement, but the details of the plan are still unknown. According to Arab media reports, Trump wants to use the money of rich Arab monarchies to help resettle Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to parts of the Sinai Peninsula.
