MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th February, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed crises in Syria and Venezuela in a phone call on Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"When discussing urgent foreign policy issues, Lavrov warned against any interference in Venezuela's home affairs, including the option of using force, which Washington has threatened in breach of international laws," the ministerial statement reads.

The diplomats also touched on the situation in Syria, "agreeing on the need to continue bilateral dialogue in the interest of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2254," the ministry added.
