Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel announced on Friday that he would pay a visit to China the following week.

"I am going to China next week. I will have meetings with my Chinese counterpart, with whom we will discuss bilateral relations.

We already have agreements in the field of aviation and culture, contacts at various levels," Bettel told reporters after the European Council meeting in Brussels.

The EU leaders held a strategic discussion on the relations between China and the European Union in the run-up to the EU-China summit slated for April 9.
