Nicaraguan Interior Ministry Frees 636 Prisoners On Holy Week

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th April, 2019) The Nicaraguan Interior Ministry said in a statement that 636 prisoners would be released from jail on Holy Week leading up to Easter.
"The Nicaraguan Interior Ministry announces ... that 636 prisoners, who were held in various penitentiary institutions of the country, on April 16 will get an opportunity to live in family .
.. on the occasion of Holy Week," the statement read.
The Prensa newspaper reported citing the opposition Civic Alliance that there were 13 political prisoners among those freed.
