Over 860 Syrians Return Home From Jordan, Lebanon Over Past 24 Hours - Russian Military

Over 860 Syrian refugees returned to their home country from neighboring Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st March, 2019) Over 860 Syrian refugees returned to their home country from neighboring Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"Over the past day, in total 866 people returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territory of foreign states: 204 people ([including] 62 women and 104 children) left Lebanon for Syria via the Jaydet-Yabus and Talkalakh CPS [checkpoints], and 662 people (199 women and 338 children) from Jordan via the Nasib CP," the ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring said in its daily bulletin.
According to the bulletin, 105 internally displaced persons have also returned home within past 24 hours.
Syrian engineering units continue their mine-clearance operations. Over the past 24 hours, they have cleared of mines 2.9 hectares (7.16 acres) of land and also found and destroyed 36 explosive devices.
The Russian Akhmad Kadyrov Regional Public Fund has carried out a humanitarian operation in Aleppo, delivering one tonne of bread to Syrians.
Russia, alongside Turkey and Iran, is the guarantor of the ceasefire in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus by providing support to the government in combating terrorist groups operating in the country and delivering humanitarian aid to civilians.
