Pompeo Remarks On Russian Bombers In Venezuela 'Unacceptable' - Russian Foreign Ministry

The Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday described recent remarks by US State Secretary Mike Pompeo concerning the training flight of Russian strategic bombers to Venezuela as "unacceptable" and absolutely unprofessional.
Earlier in the day, Pompeo in his Twitter blog referred to the Russian and Venezuelan governments as "two corrupt governments squandering public funds, and squelching liberty and freedom while their people suffer" after Russia's two Tu-160 supersonic bombers had carried out a flight from Russia to Venezuela.
"We, of course, understand that the format of tweets usually does not oblige anyone in the United States to be responsible for anything, each user is free to speak as he pleases, and everyone decides by himself whether to go beyond the boundaries of elementary propriety," the ministry said in a statement.
"However, in this case it's about the official figure, so that such a blatant disregard of the norms of diplomatic ethics cannot be considered a "passing episode," the statement said.
"What has been said by the Secretary of State is unacceptable, not to mention that it is completely unprofessional," the ministry stressed.
