The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US National Security Adviser John Bolton on Tuesday in Moscow was held in a business-like atmosphere, as the sides avoided mutual accusations, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov told reporters on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd October, 2018) The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US National Security Adviser John Bolton on Tuesday in Moscow was held in a business-like atmosphere, as the sides avoided mutual accusations, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov told reporters on Tuesday.

"The meeting had a business character, it was quite thorough, I would say that it was interesting. Most importantly, the strategic stability issues, the disarming dossier, the arms control issues, including those related to US administration's intentions to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, were discussed," Ushakov said.

"Both the president and Mister Bolton decided to avoid mutual accusations and to hold a serious, normal, thorough conversation instead. And this is exactly what happened, in fact," Ushakov added.

He specified that the meeting could not be qualified as a breakthrough.

"Let's see what happens at [Putin's] meeting with Trump in Paris," Ushakov stressed.
