Putin Meets With China's Politburo Member After Valdai Plenary Session

SOCHI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th October, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday held a meeting with Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, following a plenary session of the annual meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club.
"I want to once again thank you for coming. I hope that you found it interesting," Putin said.
The Russian president asked Yang to convey greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping, stressing that Russia would work on the implementation of agreements reached between the two leaders during Xi's visit to the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Russia's Vladivostok in September.
Putin recalled that during the September talks he and Xi discussed strategic and current issues.
The Russian president stressed that Moscow was pleased with bilateral relations between the two countries.
The 15th annual meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club started on Monday and lasted through Thursday.
