Russia Has Not Agreed With France, Germany on Observers Presence in Kerch Strait - Karasin

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2019) Russia has not agreed with France and Germany on the constant presence of observers from the countries in the Kerch Strait, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said Tuesday.

"Our president, in a recent conversation with the German chancellor, agreed on something completely different - he agreed that there would be a one-time visit by experts, observers of Germany and France, who would make relevant notes, then report them to their governments," Karasin told reporters when asked about Russia's attitude to the idea to send German and French observers to the Kerch Strait on a permanent basis.

"That's what was discussed, everything else is artificial inventions, which are mainly related to political scientists, journalists and so on. The agreement was only about this. We did not agree about anything else," he said.
