Russia and Indonesia have agreed to conclude an intergovernmental deal on cooperation in international information security, as well as treaties in criminal law, the Russian Security Council said Wednesday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th February, 2019) Russia and Indonesia have agreed to conclude an intergovernmental deal on cooperation in international information security, as well as treaties in criminal law, the Russian Security Council said Wednesday.

The agreement was reached during Moscow security talks between Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto.

"The intention to conclude Russian-Indonesian agreements on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and extradition, as well as an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of international information security in the near future has been confirmed," the council's press service said in a statement.

The sides also discussed a wide range of issues in politics and security, including the law enforcement sphere, counterterrorism, transnational organized crime, judicial assistance, extradition, issues of international information security, as well as establishment of national crisis centers.
