MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th September, 2018) Moscow has repeatedly confirmed interest in contacts with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, both sides need dialogue in the present circumstances, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told Sputnik, commenting on the possibility of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's meeting with Pompeo on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
"We are ready, and we are interested in this, we have repeatedly confirmed this. But we are not asking for this meeting. It is obvious for us that dialogue is needed by both sides. But if for some reason the United States has a different view, then we will take it into account. In any case, it is up to the US side now to finally make a decision on this issue," Ryabkov said.
