Russian Resident Suspected Of Promoting Terrorism Upon Return From Syria- Security Service

Criminal charges have been filed against a female resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in Russia, who returned from Syria with her two children and began promoting terrorism on the Internet, the Russian Security Service regional office's press service said on Friday
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2019) Criminal charges have been filed against a female resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in Russia, who returned from Syria with her two children and began promoting terrorism on the internet, the Russian Security Service regional office's press service said on Friday.
"The criminal activity of a 35-year-old resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory who returned from Syria and is suspected of committing a terrorist crime, has been stopped," the statement read.
The department noted that the woman married a terrorist and left for Russia's mainly Muslim republic of Dagestan in 2009.
Subsequently, the man was killed, and in 2012 she traveled to Syria. While there, she married a suspected terrorist and gave birth to two children. Eventually, she returned to Krasnoyarsk and posted materials promoting terrorism on the Internet.
The woman was charged with Part 2 of Article 205 of Russia's Criminal Code, the maximum penalty for which is imprisonment for up to seven years. The press service did not specify whether the suspect has been detained.
