Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Monday attended a rally in Darfur where crowds of supporters had gathered, a day after anti-government protests spread to the war-torn region
Supporters chanted "stay only, stay only", state television showed, as Bashir arrived at the rally in Niyala, the capital of South Darfur state.
Two anti-government rallies were held in Darfur on Sunday, including one in Niyala, the first such protests in the region since nationwide rallies against Bashir's rule erupted across Sudan last month.
