Thirteen People Detained In Connection With Easter Sunday Bombings In Sri Lanka - Reports

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd April, 2019) Sri Lankan authorities have detained 13 people in connection with a series of deadly explosions that killed over 200 people earlier on Sunday, media reported.
Earlier in the day, Harsha De Silva, the Sri Lankan minister of economic reforms and public distribution, said seven people were detained in connection with the blasts.
According to the news 1st broadcaster, 10 of the suspects were transferred to the criminal investigation department.
Meanwhile, the local Daily Mirror media outlet reported citing police that Sri Lanka's law enforcement authorities detained a truck that could have been used by the suspects during the bombings.
In the next 24 hours, Sri Lanka's President Maithripala Sirisena is expected to appoint a special committee to investigate the bombings, News 1st reported.
