US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he seeks complete transparency in the Russia probe and could order the release of more documents in the investigation after he already declassified a trove of records.
WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th September, 2018) US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he seeks complete transparency in the Russia probe and could order the release of more documents in the investigation after he already declassified a trove of records.
When asked whether more documents would be declassified in the Russia probe, Trump said: "We will see. We want total transparency."
On Monday evening, Trump ordered the declassification of a number of records and text messages related to the investigation into allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 US election and collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.
Trump directedthe Justice Department and Office of the Director of National Intelligence to releasethe Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act application on his ex-adviser Carter Page and all FBI reports of interviews prepared in connection with his file.
Russia has repeatedly denied interfering in the vote, dismissing the allegations as "absurd." Trump has also rejected accusations of collusion with Russia as politically motivated lies and has called the investigation a "witch hunt."
