Two Local Taliban Commanders Killed In Afghanistan

Two Taliban divisional commanders have been killed in two eastern Afghan provinces as Afghan and coalition forces continued in mopping-up operations, authorities said Thursday.

Taliban commander named Abdullah alias Mazlomyar, along with three of his subordinates, was killed after special operations forces of the country's Primary intelligence agency or National Directorate of Security (NDS) attacked Taliban hideout in Khogyani district of Nangarhar province, on Wednesday, provincial government said in a statement.
In neighbouring Logar province, a Taliban commander Enayat Khan was killed after a Taliban group came in contact with Afghan National Police (ANP) on outskirts of provincial capital Pul-e-Alam city also on Wednesday, the provincial police department said, adding a female civilian was also killed after the gunfight.
The Afghan security forces and U.S. and NATO-led coalition forces have increased ground and air offensives against militants in the last few months as the militants attack government interests. Taliban militants have yet to make comment on the reports.
