Venezuela is working with the UN, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the EU to develop measures of financial, technical and humanitarian support to the country, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza told reporters Wednesday
"We work with the UN, with the Red Cross, with the European Union to get assistance.
But the most important thing is to give the Venezuelans, the government, the opportunity to buy, pay and import things that we need. Because sanctions block our money... So besides creating new ways to pay for our needs, we are working with the UN to obtain technical and humanitarian assistance," he said.
Arreaza added that the United States was politicizing humanitarian aid to Venezuela and using it as an opportunity to invade the country.
