KIEV (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd September, 2021) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was notified about the assassination attempt on his assistant, Serhiy Shefir, the head of the parliamentary faction of the pro-presidential Servant of the People political party said on Wednesday.

Shefir survived the assassination attempt and was taken to some safe location. His driver was injured.

"It is still the middle of the night (in the United States) where the president is, so we all just sent him messages. He will learn as soon as he wakes up," faction head Davyd Arakhamia told reporters.
