SEOUL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2017 ) : U.S. tech giant Apple Inc. is widely expected to showcase its new iPhone in September, industry sources said Tuesday, staging a face-to-face battle with samsung Electronics Co.'s Galaxy Note 8, which will also hit shelves next month.
According to the sources, Apple will showcase the presumed iPhone 8 on Sept. 12, with the official release expected to start within a week from the showcase event. The new iPhone, accordingly, is expected to engage in a fierce competition with Samsung's Galaxy Note 8, which will be available in the market starting Sept.
15. Samsung showcased the 6.3-inch Galaxy Note 8 last week with a dual- camera and improved stylus features. Critics claim the device will help Samsung fully recover its tainted image from the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7, whose production was suspended last year over faulty batteries.
Industry tracker Strategy Analytics said Samsung is expected to ship 10 million units of the Galaxy Note 8 this year and help the company solidify its stance in the Android segment. The researcher, however, said the phablet's sales are unlikely to beat the new iPhone.
