Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary & Secondary Education Department (E&SED)starts Six Months Intensive Induction Training For 15,000 New Teachers

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary & Secondary Education Department (E&SED) has launched a six months intensive professional training program for all the newly recruited teachers,
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2018 ) :The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary & Secondary education Department (E&SED) has launched a six months intensive professional training program for all the newly recruited teachers, said Hakimullah, Director PITE (Provincial Institute of Teacher Education) in a statement here on Friday.
This training program also called Teachers' Induction Program, will provide 15000 pre-loaded tablets to all under training teachers. A contract worth of Rs. 424 Million has been signed between Provincial Institute of Teacher Education (PITE) and the supplier.
The tablets will contain training videos, descriptive materials and self- assessment exercises. The course will be taught through a specially designed learning management system (LMS).
There will also be face to face sessions which will be facilitated by subject experts who are trained by the Provincial Institute for Teachers Education (PITE).
To impart face to face sessions to 15000 teachers, 600 high schools have been designated as training centers.Separate centers for Primary and secondary and male and female teachers have been designated.
"The Induction Programe will enhance teachers' Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) and skills in the subject areas of English, Mathematics and Science. The programe is being delivered through an intensive blended learning model in accordance with the 21st century teaching methodology", Hakimullah, Director PITE concluded.
