Commission imparts training to 16,000 healthcare experts: Punjab Healthcare Commission

Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) initiated training of dentists on the minimum service delivery standards (MSDS), and its first session was concluded while it has imparted training to 16,000 healthcare experts so far.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2018 ) :Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) initiated training of dentists on the minimum service delivery standards (MSDS), and its first session was concluded while it has imparted training to 16,000 healthcare experts so far.

During the training, the trainees were also encouraged to develop an MSDS implementation plan for their health facility. The areas of training comprised of responsibilities of management, facility management and safety, human resource management, information management systems, quality assurance and improvement, patient care, management of medication, patient rights and infection control.

Additional Director (Trainings) Dr Majid Latif imparted training to the dentists. During the concluding session, Chief Operating Officer PHC Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan briefed the dentists about the inception of the PHC and its successes.

He mentioned that the Commission has trained more than 16,000 healthcare experts of about 11,000 healthcare establishments (HCEs). He said that for the first time in the region, the MSDS for dentistry were developed, and training had been started as well.

"The standards are grounded in reality, and are for all dental clinics, even located in the remote areas," he said, adding that the PHC has the data of all kinds of the HCEs. Director Clinical Governance and Organizational Standards Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Salariya gave a detailed briefing about the PHC working and MSDS, which have been developed after consultation with all the stakeholders.
