Ministry of Human Rights has decided to start female mental health programme for improving prisoner women health conditions through better services.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Nov, 2018 ) :Ministry of Human Rights has decided to start female mental health programme for improving prisoner women health conditions through better services.
An official of Ministry told APP on Saturday that the new programme would provide assistance to the prisoner female facing mental health issues.
He said the government was also planning to initiate a campaign to create awareness regarding the mental health issues.
Crimes related to abuse, domestic violence, house maids and complaints about usage of drugs were common in women, the official added.
Further, he said as the number of women under the control of the criminal justice system increase, more attention must be directed to ensure the supervision and services, they needed.
He said through improving mental health and providing conducive atmosphere to prisoner womenwould help them to become active part of society and contribute productivity for their family andsociety.
