Mother, Child Healthcare Week Observed In Attock

Mother and Child Healthcare week was observed in Attock district to create awareness among the people including mothers, nursing mothers, young girls and children
Health Department Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Sohail Ejaz said this while giving details of the health week here on Wednesday.
He said during the week 36,397 expecting mothers, 238,883 teenage girls, 56,147 nursing mothers were disseminated information regarding health issues.
He said 265,425 children below the age of five years were medically examined and their parents were advised accordingly while 1,657 children suffering from malnutrition were given supplements and 167,351 children were given deworming tablets .
Lady health workers played a vital role who went door to door to make this week successful.
