Polio Campaign Started In Bajaur

A three-day anti-polio campaign has been started in tribal district Bajaur on Monday with strict security arrangements.
The campaign was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Usman Mehsud in a ceremony at District Headquarters Hospital Khar.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the administration has made foolproof security arrangements for the safety of polio workers during the drive.
He asked the health officials to use all out efforts to make the campaign a successful.
District Surgeon Bajaur Dr Wazir Khan Safi said that total 232,000 children of up to five years age were being vaccinated in the ongoing anti-polio drive across the district.
He told that 829 teams including mobile, fix and transit had been formed for the drive, adding that number of polio teams had been increased for the current drive.
He said that besides, male workers, a number of female workers had also been taking part in the drive, which according to him was for the first time since 2012.
