Provincial Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik said on Monday that the Punjab government was utilising all possible resources to provide basic health facilities to people.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of an anti-measles campaign here, Dr Malik said that the provincial government wanted to eradicate measles and polio from the province, adding that practical steps were being taken for the purpose.
He said that various campaigns had been launched to create awareness among masses about health. He said that it was vision of the Punjab government to secure future of our next generations by providing them the best health facilities and education.
The minister maintained that all departments concerned have been directed to cooperate with the Health Department to ensure 100 per cent results of anti-measles campaign, adding that no negligence would be tolerated in this context.
Giving briefing on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mudasir Riaz Malik informed the minister that 630 teams have been formed for the campaign, out of which 476 would be deployed for door-to-door campaign in rural areas, while 154 would ensure presence at basic health centres.
He said that 788,000 kids of six month to seven years of age would be vaccinated during the campaign.
Chief Executive Officer Health Dr Munawar Abbas said that 892,910 donors of anti-measles vaccination were available with the department and arrangements had been made to maintain cold chain for these vaccinations.
He said that training of mobile-phone app has also been given to supervisors for monitoring the campaign.
Focal Person for Anti-Measles campaign Dr Zafar Abbas briefed the provincial minister that control has been established at the CEO Health office from where information related to campaign can be shared. He said that focal persons for Tehsil Shujabad and Jalalpur Pirwala have also been announced.
